Privacy Policy
Effective 31 October 2026
This policy covers Space Beavers for Android (full title: Space Beavers; or, Professor Gnawton’s Remarkable Gravitational Apparatus for the Prevention of Universal Unravelling; on Google Play as “Space Beavers: Idle Black Hole”) and this website, spacebeavers.com. They are made by Cynaptic Technologies LLC (“we”, “us”), which is responsible for the personal information this policy describes.
In short:
- No account to make. Your game is saved on your phone, and backed up to your own Google account through Google Play Games. We have no copy.
- Ads are rewarded ads from Google AdMob, and only when you choose to watch one. Google collects device information, including the advertising ID, to show them.
- We use Google’s Firebase to count how the game is played and to get crash reports. That data is tied to random IDs, not your name.
- Purchases go through Google Play. We never see your payment details.
- We don’t sell personal information. See Your rights for what California law says about ads.
- This website sets no cookies and runs no analytics or scripts.
Your game
Your runs, settings and progress are saved on your phone. There’s no account to create, and we run no game server.
The game also keeps a copy of your progress (your Chips, Full Apparatus, unlocked modes and traits) in Google Play Games saved games, so it survives a reinstall or a new phone. Google stores that copy in your own Google account. To reach it, the game uses your Play Games sign-in; it reads your Play Games player ID on your phone and sends it nowhere else. We can’t see your saved game or anyone else’s. A run in progress stays on the phone it’s played on.
Ads
The game shows only rewarded ads, from Google AdMob: you choose to watch one in return for something in the game. There are no ads between screens and no banners.
When the game starts, and when an ad loads or plays, Google’s ad software on your phone collects information to show ads, measure them and prevent fraud: your device’s advertising ID, device model and Android version, IP address (from which it works out your rough location), the app’s ID and version, and how you interact with ads. Google handles it under Google’s privacy policy; how Google uses information from apps that use its services explains more. Ads are limited to content suitable for general audiences.
- European Economic Area, United Kingdom and Switzerland: before any ad, Google’s consent message asks whether ads may be personalized. Without your consent, you see only non-personalized ads (which still use the information above for frequency limits, measurement and fraud prevention).
- Everywhere: you can change your choice in the game’s settings (Privacy choices), and reset or delete your advertising ID in Android’s settings (usually Settings › Privacy › Ads, or Settings › Google › Ads). With the advertising ID deleted, ads aren’t personalized.
Analytics and crash reports
We use Google Firebase: Analytics, to learn how the game is played, and Crashlytics, to find and fix crashes. They collect:
- A random app instance ID that Firebase creates on your phone (it changes if you reinstall the game or clear its data), and, where you allow it, the advertising ID.
- Your device model, Android version, language, the game’s version, and your country and region (worked out from your IP address, which Firebase doesn’t keep).
- How you found the game, when Google Play tells it (for example, a link someone shared).
- Gameplay events, as summaries: runs started and finished (mode, difficulty, result, length), Chips earned, bought and spent, ads watched and what for, purchases, and where play stops.
- Crash reports: what the game was doing when it crashed, with the device details above.
We use this to fix problems, balance the game and set its prices. We don’t use it to identify you, and it holds no name, email address or contact details.
Analytics data is linked with our AdMob and Google Play accounts, so we can see ad and purchase totals together. We also export it to our own Google Cloud project (BigQuery) for analysis, without advertising IDs. We keep analytics data for at most 26 months, then delete it; crash reports are kept for 90 days.
In the European Economic Area, United Kingdom and Switzerland, your answer to Google’s consent message also decides whether Analytics may use your advertising ID. Anywhere, you can turn analytics and crash reports off in the game’s settings.
Purchases
Purchases (Chips, and Full Apparatus once it’s on sale) go through Google Play billing. Google handles your payment; we never receive your card or account details, or your name.
We use RevenueCat to check purchases with Google Play and keep track of what you own. It receives the purchase receipt (what was bought, when, the price and currency, and Google’s order number), a random app user ID the game makes up (not your name or Google account), the game’s version, your device’s Android version and language, and your IP address. Chips are added only after RevenueCat confirms a purchase. RevenueCat handles this data for us, under its privacy policy.
Sharing a run
The share button hands a picture of your result, with a link to the game, to Android’s share sheet. You pick where it goes. The game sends nothing itself, and we don’t learn what you shared or with whom.
This website
spacebeavers.com is hosted by Cloudflare. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and loads no third-party scripts or fonts. Cloudflare’s servers keep standard logs of requests to the site, such as your IP address, the time and the page requested. We use them, if at all, only to keep the site working, never to identify or follow anyone. Cloudflare keeps them as its privacy policy describes. Cloudflare also asks some browsers (Chrome and others built on it) to tell it when a request to the site fails, to keep the site working; those reports go to Cloudflare, not to us.
The site’s app-ads.txt file is read by ad systems to check that ads in the game are sold by the right accounts. It holds no information about you.
If you email us
When you write to [email protected], we receive your email address and whatever you send, and use them only to answer you. We keep messages for two years after our last exchange, then delete them; write to us to have yours deleted sooner. We don’t add you to a mailing list or share your message.
Who handles your information
- Google: AdMob (ads), Firebase (analytics and crash reports), Google Cloud (our copy of analytics data), Google Play (the store, purchases and saved games). Google’s privacy policy.
- RevenueCat: checks purchases. RevenueCat’s privacy policy.
- Cloudflare: hosts this website. Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
We don’t sell personal information or give it to anyone else, except if the law requires it.
Your choices and deleting your data
- Ads: watch only the ads you want. Change your consent in the game’s settings (Privacy choices); reset or delete your advertising ID in Android’s settings.
- Analytics and crash reports: turn them off in the game’s settings.
- Your game on your phone: uninstall the game, or clear its storage in Android’s settings (Settings › Apps › Space Beavers › Storage).
- Your saved game in Google Play Games: delete it in the Google Play Games settings, or with your Google account’s data controls.
- Analytics and purchase records we hold: use Request data deletion in the game’s settings, which starts an email to us with your game’s random IDs filled in, or email [email protected]. We delete them within 30 days. A record of a purchase may be kept where tax or accounting law requires it.
Your rights
We handle the information described here because it’s needed to give you what you asked for (the game, its purchases, its saves, an answer to your email); for our legitimate interests in keeping the game working, improving it, setting its prices and preventing fraud; or, for personalized ads in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom and Switzerland, with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time. We, Google, RevenueCat and Cloudflare are in the United States, so your information may be handled there, under the safeguards those companies provide (such as the EU’s standard contractual clauses).
Wherever you live, you can ask us for a copy of what we have about you, to correct or delete it, to restrict or object to how we use it, or to have it in a portable form: write to us. Most of what we hold is tied only to random IDs, so we may ask for the IDs shown in the game’s settings to find it. If you’re in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you can also complain to your data protection authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office).
California and other US states: we don’t sell personal information for money. Personalized ads from Google may count as “sharing” personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising under California law. You can opt out of that in the game’s settings (Privacy choices) or by deleting your advertising ID. We don’t use sensitive personal information, and we won’t treat you differently for using any of these rights.
Children
Space Beavers is rated for players 13 and over and isn’t directed at children under 13. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has given us information, write to us and we’ll delete it.
Security
Everything the game sends goes over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Only we can reach our accounts with Google, RevenueCat and Cloudflare.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we’ll post the new version on this page with a new effective date. If the game starts collecting anything new, or sharing it with anyone new, this policy will say so before that version ships. An iPhone version will be added to this policy before it’s released.
